The problem
Most agencies optimize for billable hours. I wanted a studio that optimized for product outcomes — one that could parachute into any startup, take a fuzzy brief, and ship something investors would fund.
The approach
- Built cross-functional pods: iOS, Android, Web, Backend, Game (Unity/Unreal), Design and QA, all under one roof.
- Embedded directly with founders — strategy, architecture and engineering, not just "resource augmentation".
- Pricing tied to deliverables, not bodies. Fixed-scope sprints with hard, demoable milestones.
- Engineered a delivery playbook that lets a 3-person pod ship what a 12-person enterprise team takes 6 months to do.
The story so far
2014
The first office
Started Interest Bud as a small team committed to one promise — no client ships something they're embarrassed by. Took on every project that taught us a new platform.
2016 — 2018
Going cross-platform
Expanded into iOS, Android, Web and Unity simultaneously. Built our first international clients across the US and Europe. Established the pod-based delivery model that still defines us.
2019 — 2021
Crisis-proofing
Through the pandemic we went fully distributed, doubled headcount, and converted services revenue into R&D budget. Started incubating internal product bets.
2022 — Present
Studio + Lab
Interest Bud now operates as both a services studio for global clients and the launchpad for everything else in my portfolio — Invoicemint, Ideaas, RoomPilot3D and QUDS all started inside these walls.
